Draper Communications works with non-for-profit, government and business organizations by:
- Developing and implementing communications strategy
- Assisting with public relations including backgrounders, press releases, developing media lists and making contact with reporters
- Maintaining media contact, writing and distributing press releases, and developing content for websites and electronic newsletters
- Writing web content, articles, briefing papers, speeches, video scripts, and white papers for businesses and non-profits
- Providing training and consultation in public relations and writing.
Major projects:
- Northern Flyer Alliance: develop media strategy; provide media relations to support advocacy and legislative efforts of statewide group pushing for passenger rail in Kansas.
- Time Critical Diagnosis project: develop media strategy, press releases and background materials for Missouri Department of Health and health care foundation (with the Vandiver Group). Facilitate statewide task force writing regulations for system to improve emergency care of stroke and heart attack victims.
- Kansas City Partnership for Children: write profiles for organization’s annual report card; write in-depth white paper on youth volunteerism.
- MidAmerica Neuroscience Institute: design and write web page, electronic newsletter, press releases and background materials.
- Missouri Academy of Family Physicians: work with lobbyist to provide media support for advocacy efforts; write press releases, web copy and background materials.
- KC Safe City Initiative: facilitate two-year strategic planning initiative using public involvement to create legislative package of public safety initiatives adopted by City of Kansas City in 2000 (with the Rosselli Group); write reports, media background materials, web page copy.
- Library projects: Strategic planning, community involvement and media training for libraries (with Kansas City Consensus).
